Rick Agosto is President and CEO of Aureus Partners, Inc,
a financial sales and marketing firm for institutional investment companies. Agosto is the District 3 board member for the State Board of Education, which is comprised of 13 counties and stretches from southern Bexar County to the Texas border. Within the SBOE, Agosto holds the position of secretary for the board, and also serves on the board committee for the $30 billion School Finance/Permanent School Fund. As a dedicated Democrat, Agosto has been an active member in his community and has donated time to various boards and committees. Before accepting his seat on the State Board of Education, Agosto was very active in the San Antonio education community by serving on the education committee for the San Antonio Greater Chamber of Commerce as well as the public affairs committee for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Agosto currently holds the position of President and CEO of Aureus Partners, Inc, a financial sales and marketing firm for institutional investment companies. Prior to founding Aureus Partners, Agosto worked as Senior Vice President of Fortis Investments where he was primarily responsible for overseeing client relationships for public funds, endowments, and corporate pension funds. Agosto attended the University of Texas at San Antonio. Agosto’s family includes his wife, Loretta Agosto, who serves as his partner and the chief financial officer for Aureus Partners, Inc, and their two children. He and his family are strong supporters of the public school system in Texas. | 
Ricks Position and Duties:
Rick Agosto was elected to the State Board of Education in November 2006 and will carry out a four-year term on the board. Agosto was elected to an officer position by his colleagues and will function as the Secretary for the Board. In addition, he serves on the board's School Finance and Permanent School Fund Committee. Rick Agosto represents District 3, which stretches from southern Bexar County to the Texas Border. District 3 is comprised of 13 counties including Atascosa, Bee, Bexar, Brooks, Duval, Frio, Hidalgo, Jim Wells, Karnes, Live Oak, McMullen, Medina, and Wilson. |
